Selon leur système d'archivage, certains journaux ne donnent plus accès à leurs articles au bout de quelques jours. Inutile d'écrire à la Panse de l'Ours, ni au vieux Tom, il n'y a rien à faire, sauf consulter les pages dès qu'elles apparaissent, c'est-à-dire vous connecter très souvent (hu, hu ,hu!)

Mario Monicelli (Italy, President). Director, acknowledged master of "Commedia all'italiana" through works such as I soliti ignoti (1958), L'armata Brancaleone (1966), La ragazza con la pistola (1968), Un borghese piccolo piccolo (1977), in 1959 he received the Golden Lion at the Venice Film Festival for La grande guerra, and in 1991 received the Golden Lion for Lifetime Achievement.

Stefano Accorsi (Italy). Actor, made his debut in 1990 co-starring in Pupi Avati's Fratelli e sorelle. He reached fame with a series of roles starting with Jack Frusciante è uscito dal gruppo (1996), I piccoli maestri (1997), Radiofreccia (1998), and Un uomo perbene (1998). In 2001 he featured in three films that have established him as the new star of Italian cinema: La stanza del figlio, Le fate ignoranti, L'ultimo bacio. In 2002, he starred in Un viaggio chiamato amore, winning the Coppa Volpi in Venice.

Michael Ballhaus (Germany). Director of photography. The meeting with Fassbinder in the 1970s, from Die bitteren Tränen der Petra von Kant (1972) to Die Ehe der Maria Braun (1979), allowed him to express his photographic skill, which harmoniously united with the director's dramatic stories. He has worked in Hollywood since 1983, in 1985 beginning a long partnership with Scorsese with the film After Hours (and Goodfellas, The Age of Innocence, and Gangs of New York). In 1992 he lit up the screen of Francis Coppola's Dracula.

Ann Hui (China, Hong Kong). Director, born in China, then moved to Hong Kong, where she worked as an assistant to King Hu. She made her debut in feature films in 1979 with the thriller The Secret, followed by The Spooky Bunch in 1980, a ghost story. In 1982 she became renowned with Boat People, an engaging film about Vietnam. In 2002 she directed July Rhapsody. She also appeared in Tsai Ming Liang's Vive l'amour.

Pierre Jolivet (France). Director and scriptwriter. In 1985 he made his debut as a director with the film Strictement personnel, nominated at the César. In 1989 he directed Force majeure that received 3 César nominations. His comedy Ma petite entreprise (1999) won him the prize for best script at the Montréal Festival.

Monty Montgomery (USA), producer. After co-directing The Loveless (1982) alongside Kathryn Bigelow, her first direction and his first script, he has produced various works of David Lynch, from the Twin Peaks series to Wild at Heart, and has produced amongst others Jane Campion's Portrait of a Lady (1996).

Assumpta Serna (Spain). Actress. A member of the European Film Academy and American Academy of Motion Pictures, she acts in theatre, film and television, and teaches acting in Universities and film institutes. Amongst her roles are Pedro Almodovar's Matador (1986), Wild Orchid (1990), Yo, la peor de todas (1990). She stars in Fabio Carpi's Le intermittenze del cuore (2003).

The Jury of the Venice 60. section will assign the following awards without ex-aequo:
- Golden Lion for best film
- Jury Grand Prix, Silver Lion
- Special Director's Award, Silver Lion
- Award for an Outstanding Individual Contribution
- Coppa Volpi for Best Actor
- Coppa Volpi for Best Actress
- Marcello Mastroianni Award for Best Young Actor or Actress

The Jury will assign the following awards for short films, without ex-aequo:
- Silver Lion for Best Short Film
- UIP prize for Best European Short Film
- a Special Mention

 

Upstream - San Marco Prize
The International Upstream Jury is made up of:

Laure Adler (France, President). Historian and television author, she is a consultant and presenter for cultural programmes and daily updates of France 2 and France 3. She has been the director of France Culture since 1999. Adler has written essays and directed documentaries on a range of historical subjects.

Vito Amoruso (Italy). Scholar of English and American studies. Member for ten years of the Scientific Committee of Mystfest and the NoirInFestival, expert of American cinema and professor of English Literature and the History of Cinema at the Università di Bari.

Samir Farid (Egypt). Film critic. Founder of numerous film festivals, and member of the juries, he has been a member of the FIPRESCI since 1971. He is a consultant for the Egyptian Minister of Culture, professor at the Film Institute and supervisor of the Film section of the Alexandrina Library.

Rene Liu (Taiwan). Actress and singer. With a classical background, she has achieved international recognition as an actress. She has appeared in many successful films such as Silvia Chang's Siao Yu (1995), and the recent television series Living Under Cross (2002).

Ulrich Tukur (Germany). A well-known Shakespearean actor, equally as active in theatre as in television, Tukur is also a composer, singer and instrumentalist. In 1995 he has been appointed director of the Hamburger Kammerspieltheater. He recently appeared in Costa Gavras's Amen (2002) and in István Szábo's Taking Sides (2001).

The Upstream Jury will assign, excluding any ex-aequo:
- San Marco Prize for best film (50,000 Euro)
- Special Director's Award
- Upstream Prize for Best Actor
- Upstream Prize for Best Actress
